Utah's fastest-growing cities

Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain were the two fastest-growing cities in Utah in 2025, adding more than 8,800 residents between them in a single year, and Lehi added nearly 2,400 more (Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute, via KSL). That's a lot of homes that have only just been built.

Construction dust in new duct systems

The ducts go in before the drywall, so sanding dust and sawdust from the build land inside them, and the furnace blows that dust into every room once you move in. The EPA advises sealing registers and not running the system during dusty construction for exactly this reason (EPA), and the National Air Duct Cleaners Association lists "prior to occupancy of a new home" as a reason to clean. The same goes after a basement finish, one of the most common projects in these neighborhoods.

Check the dryer hookup in a new build
